Dear CIMCIM community,

We hope that you are all well, and after the break it is time to resume the CIMCIM News!

First of all, the CIMCIM Annual Meeting 2023 (The Netherlands) – Prospects and challenges of museum accessibility, diversity and equity on 30 August – 1 September 2023 is approaching and will see an exciting programme. Due to a high demand for participation, the conference has reached the maximum capacity for in-person attendance which is limited to 80 participants. The paper sessions from the main conference hall will be live streamed and accessible online for free. The programme and the link will be sent out on the CIMCIM-L soon. We hope that many of you can attend and much look forward to the CIMCIM Annual Meeting 2023.  

In June, the CIMCIM Board attended ICOM’s General Assemblies – and five Board members voted. Other ongoing CIMCIM activities over the summer 2023 include:

2 June: ICOM Advisory Council meeting (Chair Christina Linsenmeyer attended)

9 June: ICOM Extraordinary General Assembly. The meeting was open to all ICOM members.

9 June: ICOM 38th Ordinary General Assembly. The meeting was open to all ICOM members.

13 June: CIMCIM Executive Board meeting.

13 June: CIMCIM Board Meeting.

27 June: Programme of the joint online colloquium ‘La Conservación de patrimonio musical en museos e instituciones de América Latina y el Caribe’ of ICOM–CIMCIM and ASINPPAC (the International Association for the Protection of Cultural Heritage) published on the CIMCIM website.

28 June: ETHCOM kick-off webinar for the Revision of the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums.

5 July: Announcement on the CIMCIM-L of the Revision of the ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums: Consultation Three. More information to follow!

10 July – 12 July: Joint online colloquium ‘La Conservación de patrimonio musical en museos e instituciones de América Latina y el Caribe’ of ICOM–CIMCIM and ASINPPAC (the International Association for the Protection of Cultural Heritage).

10 July: Publishing of the CIMCIM London 2021 Conference Proceedings on the CIMCIM website.
