CIMCIM-L: Musical Instrument Museum Discussion List
CIMCIM is the International Musical Instrument Committee of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and serves as a focus for the interests of musical instrument museums and collections. It has several hundred members worldwide. All CIMCIM members are encouraged to subscribe to CIMCIM-L, which is the main channel of communication for CIMCIM announcements.
CIMCIM-L is intended to serve as an electronic forum for the discussion of all issues related to the fields of musical instrument curation, conservation, collections management, research and documentation both for members of CIMCIM and all others who are seriously involved in the organization’s sphere of activities.
List members are encouraged to participate by posting information and queries on subjects relevant to the concerns of the musical instrument museum community. Material will also be posted by the CIMCIM Board and the organization’s working groups. The list is not restricted to CIMCIM members and all who are interested are welcome to participate.
This list is moderated: material addressing issues which lie outside the scope described above will be rejected. Potential contributors are asked to keep in mind that CIMCIM-L is being maintained by the museum community for the museum community and is not intended for the discussion of issues which lack clear relevance to museum activities, however great the general interest of any such material might be.
CIMCIM-L is hosted by the University of Edinburgh.
